my heater is not heating when i turn it on .. i have a 1997 S10 4x4 it has a new themo ... the blower is working when it is on air...i want heat..

There are a few things that could cause the problem that you are having. The fins on the water pump could be rusted off if you have ran alot of water insted of antifreeze in your system( this is unlikly). Make sure the jug is full of antifreeze. If you put a thermostat in the engine u could have fixed the problem and made a air pocket in the block you can try to run the car for a little and park it and let the cooling syster "burp " itself after the engine has cooled chek to see if the level in the jug has dropped.. The heater core could be stopped up you can pull the heater hoses off the heater core located behind the engine and blow the core out with compressed air.. Try this one first this is most likley the cause.

Check your vacume lines also the heater door may not be opening or closing i have enclosed a vacume diagram of your vehicle
