The following procedure requires the use of the Trim Pad Removal tool, J-38778 or equivalent, and the Window Regulator Clip Removal tool No. J-9886-01 or equivalent.

  1. Remove the door handle bezel-to-door screws and the bezel.
  2. If removing the rear door trim panel, unfasten the upper molding screws, then using the trim pad removal tool, separate the molding from the door with the clips still left attached to the molding
  3. Unless equipped with power windows, use a window regulator clip removal tool such as J-9886-01 or equivalent, to remove the window regulator clip and separate the handle from the door.
  4. Carefully pry off the armrest screw cover and remove the armrest-to-door screw and the armrest.
  5. If equipped with power windows, remove/disengage the switch mounting panel.
  6. Check the panel for any additional screws and remove then as necessary.
  7. Using a suitable trim pad removal tool, remove the nylon fasteners from their seats.
  8. Remove the door panel from the vehicle.
  9. Installation is the reverse of removal.

Here are the instructions for the Mirror

See Figure 1

A damaged mirror glass face may be replaced by placing a large piece or multiple strips of tape over the glass then breaking the mirror face. Adhesive back mirror faces should be available for most applications.

  1. Remove the door trim panel and the water deflector in order to access the mirror retaining nuts.
  2. If equipped, remove the access hole plugs, then unfasten the mirror nuts.
  3. If equipped, unplug the mirror electrical connection.
  4. Remove the mirror assembly from the vehicle.

To install:

  1. Place the mirror into position and install the retaining nuts. Tighten the nuts to 53 inch lbs. (6 Nm).
  2. If equipped, attach the mirror electrical connection.
  3. If equipped, install the access hole plugs.
  4. Install the water deflector. The water deflector is secured by a strip of adhesive between the deflector and door, as well as waterproof sealing tape. Upon installation, make sure a good seal is achieved to keep water from entering into the body. If necessary, use strip caulking as a sealant between the deflector and door.
  5. Install the door trim panel.
