Question

The seat heater on my 2005 GMC Yukon will turn on, it stays on for less than 30 seconds, it does not heat up, then suddenly turns off. The passenger seat heater works fine.

Most likly is the heating elememnt in the seat bottom is burned/shorted an will have to be replaced

Its not hard-but if you have never done seat trim it can get intimidating unless you have someone to show you the tricks to it.The bottom cushion is held down with 2 13 mm nuts in the front,then slide it forward to release the rear pins out of the frame,You have to remove the side trim plate first of course and then the wiring as you remove it,The seat cover has plastic j clips that hold it down on the edges and then velcro is what keeps it in postion.on the foam.
