Hi XX XXXXX,
The injector needs to receive and electronic signal to spray. This signal originates from the distributor and goes through the car's computer system.
First step is to unplug the electrical connector at the fuel injector. Then take a test light and hook up the clip to one side of the plug and the probe end to the other side of the plug. Crank the engine over and the test light should go on and off rapidly if there is proper electronic signal.
If the test light does not light, then the problem is either with the distributor or the computer or the wiring. The next step is to connect the clip end of the test light to a good ground and the probe end of the test light to one side of the injector plug. Crank the engine and see if the test light lights. If it doesn't try the other side of the plug. If it lights on one side or the other, then it can be narrowed down to the distributor or the computer.
To do a quick test without getting too involved, check to see if the vehicle has spark. If it doesn't there is a good chance that the ignition module is the cause of both problems. If it does have spark then the chances are that either the computer is bad or there is a wiring problem.
Let me know what you get and I will see if I can help you further.
Thanks.
