Question
Hello. I have a 5 year old male Cockatiel. Yesterday evening I noticed a change in his droppings coupled with an increase in water intake. His droppings are mostly water with a little brown color and small solid piece that is the normal green color. He keeps wanting lots of water. This morning his feet seem warmer than normal and he definitely is not acting normal. He seems tired and is continuing to drink excess water and produce the abnormal droppings.

Nothing specific. Just trying to keep him warm and secure. We're planning on getting a heating pad today. We've heard about an over the counter pro-biotic product that is similar to yogurt that could help. Not sure if we should try that.
My best guess at what his exposure could be is that yesterday morning he chewed on the side of a base cabinet next to our shower. The area was clean but is prone to water from the shower, and therefore maybe mold or bacteria are present. He also chewed a small amount on the baseboard, which is a painted surface.

Info Request
Has he been eating?
What sort of foods does he normally have?
Has he been fluffing up and staying fluffed? Is he perching normally or has he begun going to the bottom of the cage?
Can you get a sniff of his mouth ? I know this might be a hard question, but try to describe the scent

Thank you for your response. We've already taken him to an avian care center. They've completed some initial tests and are keeping him overnight. We'll determine a course of treatment tomorrow. We didn't want to wait and let his condition worsen. We are worried but are hopeful he will be ok. In answer to your questions, he has been eating. He eats a variety of foods in general and mostly ate millet today. He was perching normally today, but was visibly tired and not quite himself. I never got a sniff of his mouth, but will mention that to the vet tomorrow morning. I will keep this service in mind for any future needs we may have. Thanks again for getting back to us. Best, Chris
