Hello XXXXXXXXXX.
Thank you for using Justanswer for your question.
I would like to try to distinguish exactly what you are experiencing before giving you treatment suggestion and referals.
Please answer these questions to the best of your ability:
How long exactly has this been occurring?
Is this a sensation that the room is spinning about you?
Where are you usually when this occurs? Any place in particular?
Does it seem to occur after a movement of the head ever? Such as when you wake up in your bed you turn your head and does that ever set it off?
Do you take any other medications or supplements?
Do you have any other health conditions?
Thanks - I'll wait for your answers.
Thank you for your thorough reply.
That this occurs when you stand up indicates that this could be anemia (low read blood count) which can be caused by different nutritional deficiencies, or other loss of blood; you might have hypotension, or low blood pressure, which could occur due to being dehydrated (not consuming enough fluids) or nervous system or cardiac abnormalities.
This combination is a little unusual. Often the type of dizziness where it feels as if the room is spinning or turning around you is caused by an inner ear inflammation, infection, or a condition called BPV (benign positional vertigo -- this cause is rare in someone as young as you). But dizziness upon standing up is more associated with the conditions that I mentioned in the prior article.
That you have hay fever, could be an indication of an inner ear inflammation.
I recommend you see your doctor soon. Especially since the last episode you may have even had some sort of spasm (when true convulsion or seizure you will lose conciousness - but would wake up disoriented and could hit your head or cause other injury.)
This may be something as simple as inner ear inflammation and the treatment may be an allergy medication. This could be something more serious such as a heart rhythm problem, anemia, or even a growth within the brain (probably not - but that your symptoms are increasing, it is important to rule this out).
So please get an appointment with your doctor. If you have a very long wait, I suggest you go to an urgent care clinic.
In the meantime, in case you are dehydrated, make sure you are drinking enough fluids. You may want to make sure you are getting enough protein and B vitamins as well - if either is lacking in your diet this may be giving you anemia.
i hope this helps. If you have questions, please reply.
Susan
