Question

I am a PTA. Should I be writing Interim Letters for this Doctor, who is behind 5 months. These are on patients I have never seen. He also dosen't pay me for two weeks until three week later. When he performs an evaluation he dosen't even touch the patient or take any range of motion measurements? I am concerned for my future with this PT/Doctor

Optional Information

rose city, Michigan

Already Tried:
I have tried talking to the Doctor, however he goes into rages and yells profanities. He fired a receptionist today because she didn't have paper in the fax machine. I think he has some bipolar problems. He is from the .middle east. I am not prejudice, but am very worried about my job security. The Interim Notes he wants me to write I haven't even seen these patients.
I drive 3 hours to work and he pays me $54.00 per week for mileage. He pays for part of the hotel I stay at which is a dive. I need help dealing with this man. Thank you very much. Beth Nielsen, PTA for 22 years.

Accepted Answer

Iwould be too. I think that it is unethical on unseen patients and against the rules of the AMA. Part of being a practicing doctor requires a reasonable exam and not touching or doing basic tests is clearing falling short of the standards. I dont think you should be writing the letters.
