my 2001 malibu the ignition key won't come out and the steering wheel is not locked when i do get it out. Is there a cable running from the floor shifter to the steering column or is it an electrical problem?

Hello XXXXXXX, this is generally a problem with the cable from the shifter. Try moving the shifter back and forth and then push it hard into park to see if it will release.
