Unless you filed a motion to terminate or modify child support due to the change in your financial condition while being incarcerated, you can be held responsible for the entire amount of child support owing. If you are still trying to get back on your feet and are unable to make the ordered payments, you may try bringing that motion now. The court will have the discretion to modify your payments.
