I have no idea what is wrong. Looking for instrument panel fuses but havent found them yet. Just need to know how to make the inside door handles work again. I can open front doors from outside only. The backseat two doors open from inside though

Answer

seen the problem many times. there are a few know problems. most common is that the inner door handle lock rod( a silver rod attached to the door actuator and the inner door handle) is either fell off( there is an updated part at saturn to correct this problem also saturn techs have a bulletin out for this concern.) another is if the power door locks don't work then most likely the door actuator is no good. take inner door handle bezel out with one screw in place slide towards the front side view mirror(bruit force is sometimes necessary) then look for rod undone. if undone then updated part is require to fix problem.

It happened on driver and passenger front doors at sametime. Would both door break at same tm?

Answer

yes i have seen both front door locks rods fall off the same time. also i have seen if power door locks are inop. then i have also seen both the front door locks go at the same time. our dealership keeps all the front door locks actuator in stock all the time due to this common problem. you never told me if it is your power locks. if just your inner door handles are not working feels like no resistance in inner door handle then yes they both let go. the inner door rods. sounds like some weird thing but quite common on saturn vues.

the power locks both work. there is just no resistence when using doorhandles. is the repair expensive?

Answer

then both the inner door handle lock rods fell off and you need the updated part for this. go to the saturn part store and match up the lock rods . the ends will be the only part different. change them and your problem will be resolved.

is it hard to fix yourself?

Accepted Answer

if you can take the inner door panel off and the door latch assembly out then the rods are easy to replace and only about 4dollars each. youll need 2 per door. if you are unable to remove the unner door panel and the latch assembly then you will either go to a dealer or an independent shop. no big deal the job takes about an hour at the most per door.
