Question

I have a 1995 Mercury Mystique Gs 4 cyl. 2.0 engine. I reinstalled the crankshaft pully and as I did this the locked flywheel moved and the pully also moved out of top dead center a half inch. How do I reset it? The timing chain and camshafts were locked and did not move during this process.

Hi XXXXXXX.

Thank you for asking your question on JustAnswer.

All you need to do is take a wrench and rotate the crankshaft back to where is was set for top dead center. If the belt was already on then your going to have to remove the belt and align the cams and the crank again before installing the belt again.
