Question

I have a very small home-health business. 2 previous employees filed claims against me for payment. The client has not paid me for the time claimed by the employees. The employee all sign an employment contract which states I cannot pay them until the clients pay me. I also have a previous employee thatfiled a claim with the labor board last year when I caught her being fraudulent on her time sheets. Last year her claim was denied but she filed again this year for what she thinks I owe her from last year. I would like to pay the first 2 but don't have the money from the client they helped. What can I do to end this?

Accepted Answer

Either take out a loan to pay them for the time they worked and when the client pays you pay the loan off, or dispute the claims with the labor board and make sure to give a copy of the employment contract that states the terms of how and when they will get paid.
