Optional Information

Age: <1; Female; Breed: feline

Already Tried:
kitten is 5 months old and is on the thin side, but active. eats normally. I noticed 1/4" white worms in the stool. nothing has been tried yet. I ordered Praziquantel from 1800petmeds, thinking my cat has tapeworms, but now i think it might be roundworms. I can't really afford to get a different med to specifically treat roundworm.

Answer

Hi,

If the wormer you're using is has only Praziquantel as it's active ingredient, no, it will not get rid of roundworms. These other treatments, listed on the site below, are made to get rid of roundworms and/or roundworms and other worms:

I hope this helped and your kitty will be fine!

Hi again,

Sorry, your 'already tried' information was not visible to me when I answered. Your description of the worm sounds like tapeworm segments. If they look like grains of uncooked white rice, these are tapeworms. If they're fatter, like spaghetti, they're roundworms. Any over the counter wormer with Praziquantel AND pyrental pamoate, should take care of both kinds of worms, but the doses must be repeated, to be completely effective. Follow directions on the product.
