The Summons is the document that calls your attention to the Complaint. The Complaint lists the cause of action against you.

First, I recommend that you hire an Oregon lawyer. If you cannot do that, then you need to type an "Answer" with the same captions and heading as the Complaint and answer, in chronological order, the allegations made in the Complaint.

If you admit some of the allegations then you say, "I admit allegations made in part 1 of Plaintiff's Complaint". If you deny the allegations you say, "I deny allegations made in part 1 of Plaintiff's Complaint". If you cannot admit or deny the allegations you say, I do not have sufficient information to admit or deny allegations contained in part 1 of Plaintiff's Complaint and put Plaintiff on notice of strict proof".

You go through all of the allegations in the Complaint in this manner.

One of the reasons that I strongly recommend that you hire a lawyer is that certain defenses might be available to you and if you do not use them in your Answer you might lose the right to use them. A lawyer can give you information about this. Good luck.

Please let me know if you have further questions; if so I will do my best to answer them. If not please hit the green accept button, its the only way I get paid.
