Question

How do you remove the rear seat in a 2004, 4 door, Cavalier, when you can not access the pull down straps in the trunk. My daughter tried to force the trunk closed yesterday with laundry and baby stroller in the trunk and now it has has messed up the lock. The key goes in but will not unlock the trunk. We have tried the release button inside the car and the automatic trunk release on her keys but nothing works. HELP!!

Optional Information

2004 Chevrolet

Already Tried:
Have repeatly tried to unlock trunk with the 3 unlocking options for this car. Spoke to local dealership that we have used in the past and they told me that they would access the trunk by removing the back seat. Which I had figured out myself but was a afraid to try and remove it and then end up breaking something. My daughter is a single mother, in fact I have two single mothers with four children between them and quite frankly I can not afford to have to take this car into the shop to have this work done. Broke Grandmother!!!

Thank you,

Just want to clarify that this procedure is all done from the inside of the car. The picture are very helpful but it said "Open the rear compartment lid", which I assume is the trunk?
