I have researched this issue for you and can find no field service procedure to correct this problem. I suspect that the only remedy will be to have the unit exchanged.

 

If the dealer cannot identify the unit you need from the vin number, they will have to connect a scantool to the vehicle to extract the part number of the radio so that they can order the appropriate service exchange unit. Once the unit is replaced it will require programming. The dealer or many ACDELCO service centres are equipped to perform this task.
