You need to tell your surgeon about this.

Did the pain get better, then come back in the past few days? Or did the pain not improve at all?

These are all questions that need to be discussed with your surgeon, since if the pain improved, then has come back recently, this could be the first sign of a potential complication (of which the most common would be a post-surgical wound infection).

Given that you have had recent surgery, your surgeon needs to know how you are feeling, so that the appropriate medical care can be given to you. If you don't tell him, you aren't helping him and yourself in trying to treat this pain.
