my cats catch this salamander thingy under damp things in my patio. after they play it leaves sticky on them, are they dangerous?

There is only one sort of toxic salamander in the US to worry about. It is the the California newt, found in California.
As long as you are not seeing any problems in the cats after they eat them or play with them then I'd not worry.
Toads do have poision glands that can cause some illness in pets.
