Hello

Lambert Eaton syndrome is autoimmune disorder of neuromuscular junction. and it is not common.

Impaired Acetylcholine discharge from the presynaptic area of nerve and muscle junction is responsible for this disorder.

More than 50% of the times, it is associated with underlying cancer in the body.Among cancers, small cell lung carcinoma is well known for causing Lambert Eaton syndrome.

It occurs in patients usually above 60 years of age.

Symptoms include lower extremities proximal(upper) muscle weakness on both sides which makes it difficult to walk, rise from chair, walking stairs etc.

It can also lead to difficult in articulation of words, vision problems etc.

More you use the muscles, more strength you gain .

Certain other system involvement can lead to difficulty in swallwoing, constipation, urine retention, blood pressure drop during standing etc also can occur.

Basically treatment is to figure out the underlying cause which could be cancer in the body in almostmore than 50% of patients.

Certain drugs like pyridostigmine, steroids plasma phresis etc are helpful but not cure for the problem.

I am hopeful your doctor must be working on finding out the source of this syndrome and most important of this task is to catch cancer in the body at preferrably early stage.

BEST WISHES FOR YOUR HEALTH . May God bless you with good health.

Answer

It is a good option worth trying specially when tumour was located and removed completely.

As I said it has associated sometimes severe risks with its infusion.

HOPEFULLY IT WILL HELP TO IMPROVE YOUR WEAKNESS IN LEG SYMTOMS BY DECREASING THE ANTIBODIES RESPONSIBLE FOR IT.

Best wishes for your health
