Question

I have a vibration noise coming from drive train 2003 silverado 160,000 miles. louder a lower speeds, cand drive and place into neutral and race engine noise does not change. Tire guy said its the transmission some type bearings, sd next the reverse in trans would go out. must go to Texas from Georgia. What would you guess the noise might be? I feel like its in rear end? If it is trans would you think it will make the 900 mile trip to get home to local repair shop?

Accepted Answer

ummm i have heard more issues with the rear ends on thoses trucks, the carrier bearing may have took a shit look at the rear diff and see if you have fluid leaking or if it looks likeit had been, the pinion seal and yoke go bad on those, the yoke gets groved, and makes them leak, and they lose enough fluid and tears up the bearings, but then again i am not there to hear the noise. i hope this helps let me know if you need any info or help
