Is this a Gateway Laptop? Is it a ATI Radeon 7500 mobility video card? I may have some good news.

Copy below text to a .reg file and run it on your laptop. this will modify the registry but this hack appears to work for OpenGL support.

Read this thread.

The text below is what gets pasted into notepad and saved as a .reg file.

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\OpenGLDrivers\ati2dvag]
"Dll"="atioglxx.dll"
"DriverVersion"=dword:00000001
"Flags"=dword:00000001
"Version"=dword:00000002

the Gateway is an E4000 (I cant/dont know how to edit my questions) desktop. the card is just an ATI Radeon 7500. it is a low profile card, the case is skinny! the computer is dated late 2002. I appreciate your help.

william, I think I have my awnser. it appears that my card is lame. I thank you for directing me towards an awnser. I will simply replace the silly card. can you recomend a low profile card?

Answer

ok i found the E4000 specifications. You have an AGP slot and you need the card half height like you said

Nvidia Gforce 5200 and 6200 come in the AGP form factor and half height.

Here are some places with prices you can review.

Glad to help!!
