I have a Yamaha Waverunner, 1999 1200 XL. When I hit the start button all I get is a knock from the black box in the rear of trhe engine compartment. I have replaced the battery with no change. Now I have also put the console in lock mode and do not know how to unlock it. Please Help.

Answer

That click or knock is probably from the starter solenoid, and it suggests that you have a loose or dirty/corroded connection at the battery, solenoid, or starter motor. Check both positive (red) and ground (black) cables.
