Question

Air conditioner fan runs but does not output any air. Shut the car off. Started it a few minutes later and it blew fine. Two hours later down the road, same problem. Help! I'm 800 miles from home in hot/humid conditions and dealership doesn't open until Monday. Thanks, Paul

Answer

Hi you have a faulty fan speed resistor, the only thing you are able to is have it replaced.

Can this be done by any shop or does it have to be done by a BMW service center? In other words, is this a difficult part to obtain and/or is it difficult for a local shop to do the work? Thanks, Paul

Accepted Answer

Hi This is best done at the bmw dealership, they should be able to supply the parts quickly, and will have the diagnostic equipment to complete the job in good time. Cheers
