My 9month old min pin ate a 25mg azathioprine pill, will he be ok ? It is a immune suppresant pill

There is a lot of risk with this drug being given in a young pup. If he just consumed this pill then I highly suggest inducing vomiting. You can use 1 teaspoon of hydrogen peroxide every couple minutes for no more than 4 doses. If he doesn't vomit then I do suggest taking him to the vet for charcoal to absorb as much of the drug as possible. Since this is an immune suppressant it can also cause bone marrow suppression and result in severe anemia and a decline of wbc which will leave him unable to fight infection.

This drug has been given to dogs as treatment for some condition but your pup has eaten 2.5 times the dose that is normally given for a dog this size.

Remember if you do not see the pill in his vomit or he doesn't vomit then he should be visited by the vet as soon as possible.
