Hi Darla,
What med was in the shot?
How long ago did she get it?
What do you mean by "chronic urination"?
Is it just dripping out of her or is she peeing constantly, very often? Other?
Is she eating?
Thanks,
Terri
Not sure what antibiotic was used. It was three months ago.
It is a full void of urine. She drinks all the time so she voids a lot. Her apetite is fine.
You very seldom see her doing it, you just step in it, but it is daily.
Dear Darla,
These symptoms are more indicative of diabetes or renal failure.
What happens is ineffective kidneys do not disburse all fluids to the organs - hence the cat feels very dehydrated. That causes her to keep drinking in a despirate attempt to restore her proper fluid balance.
If she is truly incontenent there are meds that can help. I would do some blood work and test her BUN creatnine and PCV to see what shape her kidneys are in and if she is diabetic.
Cats with only 25% of kidney function can do fine via SubQ fluids which can even be administered at home:

A renal diet may help.
Diabetes can be managed as well
Have her seen by a different vet if possible.
Please let me know how she is doing. I hope all will be well.
Sincerest best wishes,
She eats science diet c/d and I just made an appointment for her with a different vet for tomorrow. I never thought about the diabetes and I am sure she wasn't tested for it.
Thank You
