None at this time, I would prefer to find Low income Legal Aid assistance if possible since I am currently not working at this time. Question is that when I was younger, my older brother stole my driver license and have used it at many times during his arrests. Didn't know until I pulled my VA criminal record recently. There are 8 counts of misdemeanors and felony charges all of which are older than 10 years old, and all charges have taken fingerprinted. I need to know is that how to dispute that it wasn't myself who was arrests, need to clear up all records.
What can I do and where can I get help ?
Accepted Answer
The State Attorneys Office should have a department set up for victims of identity theft, such as you. This department is set up, to clear the records of people who's identity was stolen and used by another for identification, on crimes that were committed. It is normally called the " Not Me" division. You can go to the State Attorneys office at the court house and ask to speak with someone in that division, about this criminal record. You will need to bring in proof and probably need to submit to being fingerprinted. The office will check into the identity theft and if it is determined that you are not the person who committed these crimes, they should clear up your record for you.
