Question

I bought a new 2008 E90 and the only tools in the trunk are a screwdriver and a towing hook. It looks like there are two missing tools. The dealer says that they are only for the European market. Is he B.S.ing me? What are the missing tools and are they available for purchase somewhere? Thank you!

Answer

generally they come with the tow hook, a screwdriver and a 10 and 13 mm wrench. though it seems they are also putting less and less tools in the kit as time goes by.

The empty spaces are shaped odd for open end wrenches

Do you have a picture of what I should have received? Where can I get the missing tools?

Answer

If you should have recieved them they are just 2 regular wrenches. A friend of mine has a 2007 E90 and we checked his tool kit and it did in fact have two wrenches, a 10 and 13. I was unable to find a picture but I am almost certain that your BMW parts center would be able to get these tools for you. Hope this helps.

The 2 open tool holders in the trunk are not shaped anything like a straight open end wrench! The dealer said that one of them was some sort of road side signage to be placed on the road in case of a breakdown. The 2008 E90 must be different than the 2007 model that you speak of.

Accepted Answer

well i do believe that the euro market does require a couple of different tools. as far as what are in their kits I honestly dont know but i dont see any reason that the dealership would "BS" you. But I also dont see why they may not be able to get the additional tools if you are that interested in them. hope this helps.
