hi, im a mechanic ,ive just changed the front wheel bearing on my 2003 passat 1.9 tdi 130 6, since then whenever i press my brake pedal gently just before you stop, going very slowly the abs pump fires on that wheel, if you brake harder nothing happens!!!!!!!!! ive tried changing the sensor but it has made no difference.if you any ideas it would really help thanks

Hi!
The best way to see what's happening is to scope the A/C signal being generated by the sensor on gentle braking. Most likely, you are going to see the signal dropping out when stopping gently. Check to make sure that there's no rust on the mounting surface that will increase the distance between the sensor and the tone ring on the hub. Also, check the condition of the tone ring itself. Make sure that it didn't get damaged when changing the bearing out. Check to make sure the tone ring is sitting straight on the hub, and that it didn't get cracked or damaged in any way. Even a deep scratch on the tone ring will cause the sensor signal to drop out.
