Question

My canary hen has laid a clutch of 4 eggs. The 1st one is now at 20 days old and the last one at 16 days. She is incubating them all the time and the male is very attentive to her. However, at this stage, I'm starting to doubt that the eggs will hatch. How long do I leave her with the eggs and what should I do?

Hello,

You're probably right that the eggs won't hatch. The normal incubation period for canaries is only 13-14 days. When your hen leaves the nest to feed, you can remove the eggs. To read more about breeding canaries:
