Question

the clicking noise that comes on when i turn on my blinker keeps going after i turn off my blinker why is this? Its a speratic random clicks. How do i fix this problem?

the easiest repair is to replace the turn signal switch or remove the switch and the screws on the switch and remove every hint of grease you can fine inside, either one will fix the problem, a new switch $170.00. good luck. i hope i helped and please accept my answer. thanks T-MAN

  • Pull out on the retaining pin securing the tilt steering wheel lever (2).
  • Snap out the tilt steering wheel lever (2) by pulling firmly in an outward direction.

  • Remove the retaining screws from the lower steering column trim cover (3).
  • Remove the upper column trim cover (1) tilting up and unsnapping from the lower column trim cover hinges (3).
  • Remove the tilt lever. Refer to Tilt Lever Replacement - On Vehicle .
  • Remove the lower column trim cover (3) from the steering column (2).
  •  

     

  • Disable the supplemental inflatable restraints (SIR). Refer to Enabling the SIR System in SIR.
  • Remove the steering column trim cover. Refer to Steering Column Trim Covers Replacement - On Vehicle .

  • Remove the multifunction switch (2) retaining screw.

  • Disconnect the electrical connectors (3) from the multifunction switch (1).
  • Remove the multifunction switch (1) from the steering column (2).

    1. Position the multifunction switch (1) on the steering column (2) while depressing the spring loaded horn pin.
    2. Connect the electrical connectors to the multifunction switch (1).

      Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

    3. Install the multifunction switch (2) retaining screw.

      Tighten
      Tighten the multifunction switch retaining screws to 4 N·m (35 lb in).

    4. Install the steering column trim cover. Refer to Steering Column Trim Covers Replacement - On Vehicle .
    5. Enable the SIR system. Refer to Disabling the SIR System in SIR.

  • Connect the inflatable restraint IP module connector (3) located above the RH IP wiring harness junction block.
  • Install the connector position assurance (CPA) (2) to the IP module connector (3).
  • Install the RH IP wiring harness junction block access panel.

  • Connect the inflatable restraint steering wheel module coil connector (1) located above the LH IP wiring harness junction block.
  • Install the CPA (2) to the steering wheel module coil connector (1).
  • Install the AIR BAG Fuse to the LH IP wiring harness junction block.
  • Install the LH IP wiring harness junction block access panel.
  • Staying well away from both air bags, turn ON the ignition.
    8.1. The AIR BAG indicator will flash seven times.
    8.2. The AIR BAG indicator will then turn OFF.
