Hi there tony this is lostrider, the fluid filter on that transmission only needs to be replaced if there is a major problem with the trans, the filter is located inside the trans case assembly and the trans has to be torn down to access the filter, there however is a fluid drain and refill procedure, hope this helps.

Transmission Fluid Drain and Refill

Material
ItemSpecification
Pipe Sealant with Teflon®
D8Z-19554-A
WSK-M2G350-A2
MERCON® Multi-Purpose Automatic Transmission Fluid
XT-2-QDX
MERCON®

Removal

  1. Raise and support the vehicle. .
  1. Place a suitable container under the transaxle drain plug.
  1. NOTE: If an integral problem is suspected, drain the fluid through a paper filter. A small amount of metal or friction particles may be found from normal wear. However, if excessive metal and friction particles are present, internal service will be required.

Remove the transaxle drain plug and drain transmission fluid.
