Question

My supervisor has used things I told her about my everyday personal life with my husband and family to tell other employees throughout the company. in particular she has fed information to an employee who is having ''relations'' with my husband. Is this a form of hostile work environment or harassment? I feel like I dont want to return to my job place.

Accepted Answer

this indeed an example of a hostile work ennvironment and you could sue the employer for this basis. consider if you want to go this route and contacting a more senior manager and HR may be more appropriate (transferring you or the supervisor, advising the supervisor to stop under penalty of suspension or termination) the employer will want the conduct to end out of fear of litigation.
