My dachsund has had recurring back and hip issues. He is in pain and I want to know if I can give him aspirin or something until we can get him to the vet.

He can have BUFFERED aspirin at a dose of 5mg per pound every 12 hrs. until you can get to your vet. If this upsets his stomach discontinue.
