Question

I have a 2003 Yamaha 1200 SUV Waverunner. I would like to know could I retrofit a 4-stroke engine in it to replace the 2-stroke I have in it now. I''m looking for better fuel mileage and if possible a larger (1500 cc or larger) engine.

XXXXXXXXXXX,
It would be an incredible can of worms to do so. it is most certainly NOT a drop in. The hull is not designed to accept a 4 stroke engine. I can not imagine the expense and effort could ever offset the reward. In my thinking, the money you spend re-inforcing the hull and installing new custom made engine mounts will buy an awful lot of gas, even @ $4 a gallon. Not to mention the expense of acquiring the engine, electrics, exhaust, induction system and so on.
I imagine you like the SUV due to the size, but unfortunately that conversion by most peoples standards is cost prohibitive.

If you have any more questions, please feel free to ask.
