Hi Jack, where I would start is, look at the oil tank on the motor, is it full to the top? if not then run the motor at idle and loosen the vent cap and see if oil transfers from the boat tank to the motor tank, if no flow from the boat tank then check to see that the caps on the boat tank are tight. If they are and still no flow then check the pulse fitting on the starboard side of the motor, there two hoses from the boat tank, the one with the blue stripe carries oil the other one goes to the pulse fitting and is pressurized by crankcase pressure. I have seen the 250 spit kind of hard at cold startup and blow the check valve out of the pulse fitting. Once this happens the boat tank is no longer being pressurized. I believe when the motor tank gets a little low it beeps every so often and when it gets realy low you will get a solid alarm. If not oil tank then look at water separating fuel filter to see if it has water in it.
