what type of fluid goes in the front diff on a 1995-1999 s10 4x4 is it dextron atf?and how much 3-4 quarts?

All 4X4 S10 trucks from 1995 to 1999 require 80W90 gear oil for the Front Differential. This is the housing at the front suspension with the axles that go to the wheels (in front of the front driveshaft).

The Transfer Case (the part that actually bolts to the rear of the Transmission.. rear of the front driveshaft) uses Dexron for 1995-1998, and for 1999 uses GM Transfer Case fluid (specially designed for this purpose available at your local GM dealer).
