Question

After I have had my computer diagnostic codes reset and the check engine light is off, how long does it take for the computer to reset or recalibrate so my vehicle can pass the function test for emissions? Is there any requirements that I can do, i.e drive a certain distance or speed, to make this happen?

Answer

Hi

Right, having the fault codes reset will not have an effect on your emissions. Having your engine adaptations reset might, in which case they'll be recalibrated between 30-50 miles of varied driving, but if there was an emissions related fault in the memory that hasnt been rectified then it's only a matter of time before the light reappears.

What i your year, model and engine?

What were the fault codes that were stored?

Rich.
