Question

Me and my ex-fiance made an intimate recording together. Now that we''re not together, he''s threatened to email it to all of my business associates and ruin my personal and business reputation. Is this against the law-him releasing private property to the public without my consent? What can I do?

Answer

Thanks for your question. I think you shoudl consider having a lawyer write him a letter demanding return of the tape and threatening with civil suit if he discloses the tape to anyone. You have legal rights and remedies in this situation.

A lawyer may be able to get the tape back and put him on notice here. Your lawyer could also file suit here if he makes this public. This is a good claim here. Sometimes if he was a homeowner he would insurance coverage for such a situation. Either way this would protect you here from disclosure or get you money if he does it. Good luck here..
