Answer

Hello

The hives & itching you are having can be due to allergic reaction. This can be your medications-birth control, zoloft(inspite of this that you are taking them for 3 weeks or it can be some other allergens. A hypersensitivity reaction (similar to an allergy) occurs in the skin, causing inflammation. The inflammation causes the skin to become hives, reddish & itchy.

You need skin allergy testing.Common one are:elimination-type tests. In this the suspected foods are avoided for several weeks and then gradually re-introduced one at a time and you will be observed for signs of an allergic reaction.Double-blind test can also be done.Radioallergosorbent test (RAST) is a blood test done to see whether there is true allergic reaction. Also some other blood tests & other tests may be required.

Take tablet levocitrizan 5mg once a day.Apply cream containing hydrocortisone. If the area is large then apply Calamine lotion. This will reduce the hives & itching. All these medications are available at your counter without any prescription. So I advice you to consult your dermatologist for the examination & tests to know the exact cause so that it(allergen) can be avoided in future.
