Question

I have a clogged garbage disposal that will not drain any longer. I removed all of the corn husk that I could, but the water still will not go down.

Glenn:either that is clogged or it's clogged in the p trap
bratgirl70:ah huh and?
Glenn:that's the s looking thing these come apart fairley easy
Glenn:make sure you put a bucket under it

Glenn:ok

Glenn:you have to take it apart
bratgirl70:do i unscrew the thing on the disposal?
Glenn:don't loose any of the plastic washers
Glenn:yes that hose has to come off also

Glenn:the s looking pipe it has 2 big nuts going to it
bratgirl70:i got te steel thing off, do I just ull?

Glenn:you have both nuts off ?
bratgirl70:yes and the steel thing

Glenn:what about the rubber hose going to the disposal do you have that off ?

Glenn:I told you to use a bucket
bratgirl70:it missed the bucket
Glenn:oh o
bratgirl70:to reiterate.
Glenn:is it cloged up ?
bratgirl70:there are two hoses
bratgirl70:a rubber one on top,,,, it is off
bratgirl70:a hard one lower down, that had the two screws and the metal plate
Glenn:one to each sink
Glenn:oh ok
bratgirl70:do i KNOW PULL ON THE HARD PLASTIC ONE ATTAChed to the drain?
Glenn:if you backed the large nuts off yes
bratgirl70:I am pulling out tons of corn husk right now
bratgirl70:do not leave me, I have to put it back together, please
Glenn:that's your problem
Glenn:ok i won't
bratgirl70:I pulled out a huge clump
bratgirl70:there is small strands inside, do I have to clean those all out as well??
Glenn:good that should do it
Glenn:maybey and maybe not
bratgirl70:I am attempting to put it back together now, hang on
