Question

My dog was outside barking, usually that means that someone or thing was out there. All of a sudden he stopped barking and started flopping around. He''s 3 and has never done this before. He was quivering all over and he could barely stand. After about 5 minutes he seemed OK. I think he might have been shocked by someone or thing. Could this be true?

This might be due to a seizure episode. You can read about these here

I would suggest a vet visit with your vet to have the dog checked out.
The barking may all have been a part of it or have triggered the episode.
This breed can have low thyroid problems and that can trigger seizure episodes so you may want to have your vet really thoroughly check him over and perhaps have blood work done.
The typical things that might shock a dog including bee stings or snake bite would likely have caused a different reaction in him or have side effects you could still see.
Hope this helps you!
