Do dogs get homesick? When ever I go away over the weekend one of my girls usually will take her for the weekend and she loves to go with them but when I return they always tell me that she did not eat. As soon as we get home I''ll put food in her bowl and she chows down.

Hi Lou,
This is a combination of missing her pack leader (you) being in another environment (even though she likes it there) and being a bit unsure of her ranking there. If a dog is nervous or uncertain, she wont eat.As soon as she gets home and sees you she is fine.
Have your daughter sit down on the floor with her when she feeds her. That will make her more comforable and motivate her to eat. A little treat like boiled chicken sprinkled on her food is another motivater.
