Then he assumed the risk that one of the players or coaches might lose control of a bat or ball by accident. Anyone can sue anyone for anything generally. You were more than generous in paying the bills you did. Let me say this....I have been handling personal injury cases for 30+ years. If the man here approached me about representing him, I wouldn't take the case, but you never know what he and/or another lawyer might do. Also check your homeowner's policy to see if you are covered for such an accident off premises. If it is covered and you are sued, the company will provide a lawyer for you and pay any settlement or judgment up to the policy limits. You might also get a sense of the man's intentions by approaching him and asking for a written release from any liability in return for the amounts you already paid. If he refuses, he may be contemplating a suit.
