nick this is a 91 318 is ..just under 200k ..have changed out the timing chain and gears ..all vac lines intake gaskets idle regulater valve plugs wires every thing is ste to spec ...just wont idle and will stall if you turn on the AC ...have to keep the idle at 1200 rpm to keep it running ...is running a bit rich as well had it to bmw dealer and droped 900 bucks ...he said all elect parts are ok ....so now what?

i might add that i changed the chain and all because the chain guide on the right side was broke in 3 pices and had let it skip a few teeth was off on the intake cam ...but all is set to the book ..TDC and cams in place (faceing each other) arrows are up and bolts are about centered everything is where i was told to put it ..i have been working on autos 50 + years so i know something ...just cant figure this one out I am willing to pay more for an answer that is correct or helpfull i am now going thru the electronics and so far all is checking out the car will run strong and all, pulls hard thru the gears doesnt use oil doesnt have butchered up wires and has been well maintained ...i dont know what elese to say ..if you have a question about it i havent answred let me know

Hello, I would need you to do a couple of tests. What is the engine vacuum at idle, 2500 rpms and when power braking, pay attention to needle movement let me know if steady or shaking. Static compression readings (all plugs removed and throttle wide open, fully charged battery). Let me know so we can go from here. Thanks, Nick

gee nick sorry it took me so long to get back to ya ...seems the Vac is all ok ...it apperes to be a cam sensor ....runs the same with it in place or not . tell me if there is other things i should check now or not ....gotta wait for sensor to come in i should add that the car won't hot start ...but starts well when cool
