They have a rubber cover over the spark plug and it is difficult to remove without breaking the rubber cover

Answer

Hi there i usally just lever out the coil with a screwdriver through the hole in the catch, for the connector, at the top of the coil. If there is a tight coil twisting it left then right a little will free it off the spark plug.
