Question
I have a 2004 BMW 325i, and I was changing my front passenger side brake and I forgot I had the Power Bleeder still pressurized. As a result, the cylinder thing shot out of the caliper, and spilled the brake fluid every where. Luckily it did not hit the paint area. Now, to add insult to the injury, while I tired to put the cylinder thing back in the caliper, I torn the rubber gasket. My question is, how do I put the cylinder thing back into the caliper? Or since the rubber gasket is torn, I need to buy a new caliper to replace it? More importantly, it seems the brake fluid is still coming out of the caliper even though I have depressurized the power bleeder. What do I need to do to stop it. Thanks for your help

Using a C-clamp to try to push back the cylinder back into the caliper without success.
Accepted Answer
If the rubber gasket is damaged you would be best off replacing the caliper, You can lightly squeeze the rubber brake hose to stop the leak but it should be clamped as lightly as possible just enough to make the leak stop.
