Question

We just came home from a weekend trip and found that my 11 y/o Collie had pooped on the floor. It was very dry looking and even had a little white color to it. It was also "spread out." A little here, little there, not one pile. It looked like it had been there for days, but my neighbor had checked on him just a couple of hours earlier. My neighbor said that he had done the same with her and she described it that way also. My first thought was that he was mad because we left him, but with his stool being that way, I dont think so. Any help?

White colored stool can indicate a problem with gallbladder, liver or pancreas and not enough bile reaching the digestive tract. Digested bile is what colors the stool brown.
Another possibility is over consumption of 'white' treats such as Bonz or real bones. With those anything not digested might show as 'white' material in the stool.
I'd plan on a vet check up for him unless you can find an over feeding of either real bones or any white colored treats that might be the cause.
But as he is 11 a vet check up is your best option.
Hope this helps you!
