Reply to Terri Riba's Post: I had asked if a dog would have lasting side
effects after having a seizure for two hours and
a temp of 44C. The vet I took her too said she
was not reacting to light and she had brain damage. I had to put her down. Would you have
advised the same.

Dear friend,

I am so sorry about your dog. My heart goes out to you. My sincerest sympathy.

If she was not reacting to light she did have irrepairable brain damage. I am sure your vet advised you correctly and you made the right decision.

If your vet thought she could be helped he would have done everything possible.

A seizure of that duration is not survivable.It disrupts the brains electrical impuses.

Once again, I am so very sorry this happened.
