Question

the car sat for over a year, I just bought it and noticed that the ac does not get cooler after a 30 minute idle? How hard is it ti recharge?

Hello, does it blow cold at all? Can you tell if the compressor is locking up? Do you know if it has been converted to 134a? However it can be charged. Let me know your findings. Thanks.

Blows not so cool, has not been converted to my knowledge, is that difficult?

No. Freon is just much more expensive for the R12. Now would be a good time to have it converted. In doing so you will most likely solve your issue. You will need a new expansion valve and a new dryer. After replacing these check for leaks and recharge. Also you will want to flush the system. I would do this before replacing the parts listed to avoid contamination. Let me know if you need any further help. Thanks

As a side note you just can try and charge it with R12 and it could work just fine. The question would be: For how long?
