can i put new new bearings in 10 bolt rearend and still be in spec useing same shims and pinion preload

Answer

IF you are only changing the bearings, then the only adjustments you need to worry about are the pinion bearing preload, carrier preload and backlash. The pinion depth will not change. Also, if it has shims on the carrier side bearings, then all you need to adjust is pinion preload and check the rest.
